Note some brown leaves on the trees yet. I have no explanation for that, other thean it has been a very tame winter. |

Description: |
Cumberland Mine Railroad SD38-2 crossing over Bridge 4 in Garard's Fort, PA. This is one of the more unique railroads in Pennsylvania, as it does not have a connection from any other railroad. It simply runs about 15 miles from Cumberland Mine in Kirby to an unloader in Alicia. This SD38-2 was built as Yankeetown Docks (YDC) 22 in December 1978. Only 88 SD38-2 engines were ever made by EMD. |

A vintage imported trolley owned by the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum passes by a small pond next to their property in Arden, PA. Somehow I was able to frame this moving trolley between the two poles just at the right time. I bet that won't ever happen again. PRC 1711 (1) |
Description: |
A vintage Pittsburgh Railways Company 1711 is running the rails of the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum on a beautiful evening, just past the 151 signal. PRC 1711 was built in 1949 by the St. Louis Car Company and was in active service until 1988. Acquired by the museum in 1990. This trolley is running on part of the same Washington to Pittsburgh route that it did when it was first put into service. Any fan of old power poles will certainly enjoy seeing the ones on this route. |
