A very rare close look at the remote-controlled switcher used in Consol Energy's Alicia Yard. The locomotive is a CLCX (Chattahoochee Railroad Company) Alco S2. I'm told this was rebuilt with a Caterpillar motor and it seemed to pull the coal cars with no strain at all. This was built as HBT 18 in August 1948. Later became TEXC 4. I have discovered this has now moved on to Gilman, Illinois and is CRGX 9698. |
