| Description: |
Hooked to a string of empty coal gondolas, and idling away, But who knows when it will actually be able to leave the yard. Seen at the downtown end of the CSX yard in Connellsville. I have since found out that there has been a 130 car coal train wreck in the mountain area of Meyersdale Pa which is clogging all rail traffic between Connellsville and Cumberland on the Keystone Subdivision. The deep snow is hampering cleanup efforts. |

An empty coal train, using Norfolk Southerns Loveridge Secondary, rounds the wye approaching the Brownsville Junction Bridge. After crossing over, it will get on the NS Mon Line, travel the streets of West Brownsville on the way back to the coal mines. Much thanks to the friendly crew on this train, who threw out two ice-cold water bottles to me as they were passing by. |

A train of empties using the Norfolk Southern Mon line, doing about 10 MPH down Main Street in West Brownsville, Pa. The high bridge in the background is the Lane Bane, which carries U.S. Route 40. I barely had a chance to get this photo because an SUV decided to try and drive down the road, right in the middle of the tracks, sat there for 30 seconds till they realized they better back up and turn around because this train wasnt stopping. |
