SWP Sand Empties On CSX |
Description: |
SWP 3503, SWP 3501, CN 2508, CN 2264, NS 8822, and NS 9756 running westbound past the Connellsville CSX Yard on their way back to the SWP Railroad's own rails a few miles away. 3503 and 3501 were the rear helpers when the train was full, and it was easier to put all the power on one end to bring the train back from Smithfield, PA. |

CN 2518 (1) |
Description: |
On a day with Canada-like blizzard conditions, it only seems appropriate that the Canadian National Railway makes a visit to Connellsville, Pa. Here it huddles under the old N&W-P&WV bridge, next to Q353-11. This train is called K676-11, pulling mainly ethanol tank cars. Despite the CN power, it had a CSX crew. |

CN Meets CSX |
Description: |
Or also it could be said: GE meets EMD. This is the first occasion Ive ever personally seen the Canadian National leading a train on the CSX Keystone Subdivision. It must have brought the weather down from Canada with it. The train on the left is K676-11 and the one on the right is Q353-11. #6113 GP40-2 is former B&O BO 4214 built May 1975. |

Description: |
The autorack train that was Q261-06 has now gotten a new number (Q253-06) after it arrived in Connellsville. Here it is getting its long train put together and it stretches back into the west end of the CSX Yard. The EAS Sodem signal bridge and Memorial Bridge for Route 119 are in the background. There is a myth that this location cannot be photographed because there are wires in the way. They can be worked around in a few select spots. |

In South Connellsville, autorack train Q261-06 is running west on Track 2 which is normally for eastbounds, because of trackwork that never seems to end. A muddy Youghiogheny River is in the background. |
