Description:  The second engine on Q277-29, an EMD SD40-2 in new paint that has an interesting history. Built as KCS 605 SD40 in November 1966. Later it became Conrail 6963 and was rebuilt to an SD40-2R. It still has its original short SD40 body. Here you can see that along with a repainting, it has had an air conditioning unit added to the roof.

Description:  A pair of SD40-2's are taking empty autorack train Q253-06 (Connellsville to Walbridge) west down Track 4 on a slow approach. What a history that CSX 8873 has! Built as PRR 6045 SD40 in February 1966. Later became PC 6045, CR 6298 and CR 6971. So it is now on its fifth number.

Description:  Q352 is heading east through South Connellsville after playing in the yard for awhile. CSX 8881 is a former PRR 6073 SD40 built in February 1966. Also a former PC 6073, CR 6991 and CR 6326. Now upgraded with air conditioning, but the crew was staying old-school with the windows open. I don't photograph out here much anymore. Those antenna masts really bug me in my photos.

Description:  L394-04 is restarting in Connellsville after a brief crew change, with lots of smoke being created by the second engine in line, which is a C40-8W. Ironically it was making more smoke than the older SD40-2 in front. The landscape here is looking very lush green right after some heavy rains.
