CSX 8404 (conductor's side)
This second engine on train Q216-26 is the first CSX SD40-2 to get the new CSX "railcar" logo. Built as a C&O 7553 SD40 in August 1966. It had the old YN1 paint right up until fall 2012. I was told that even though this engine looks good, it was not running right and it had to be swapped out once the train got into the yard.

Atlanta Rails General Whats the point of this, its just going to be scrapped or turned into a SD40-3 in a few years. 1/5/2013 3:07:32 PM
Curt Beal General Thanks for your comments on this guys. CSX is the only one who can answer that question. I doubt that the entire roster will ever have the "railcar" logo because it will take too many years, with only two shops that do painting. 1/5/2013 4:33:58 PM
Mike Maskel General NICE SHOT 3/28/2013 1:23:53 PM
