WMR Viaduct, Wheeler Bottom
One of just a handful of remaining bridges that still have the Western Maryland Railway speed lettering visible. This was bridge number 2529 and was built in 1912 as part of the new Connellsville Extension. It was last painted in 1955, so it is a miracle this lettering is still here. Abandoned by WMR in the mid-70's, this bridge was abandoned for about 20 years but eventually found new life as part of the Great Allegheny Passage in 1995.
