A trio of SD40-2s bringing the empty coke train K301-02 west to the Wheeling and Lake Eries interchange. You can see it switching over right here. WE 6354 SD40-2 was acquired by the Wheeling and Lake Erie in 2008 ang was one of two locomotives to be painted as AWVR 1206 for the now-famous Unstoppable movie. Built as KCS 665 in January 1974. The loads of steel coil were added onto the train in Connellsville. Autorack train Q277-04 is on the right on Track 4. Photographed from public property on Memorial Bridge. |

Meanwhile, helpers for a coal train rest on Track 2 Main. The rear of an autorack train passes on Track 1 Main. In center background is an empty oil train that came into town a bit earlier. A K155 empty oil train passes a waiting Wheeling and Lake Erie train in Connellsville. This was the third oil train of the day, and may have been others. The W&LE train was held by CSX for a few hours and it was storming and rainy by the time it got to move. |
