Description:  The leader on Q353, EMD SD40-2, built as L&N 1236 SD40 in April 1970. Sadly this locomotive was involved in a fatal accident on 9/8/2011 near Botkins, Ohio. Conductor Dennis Hemme, 59 of Cincinnati Ohio was killed after being pinned between this locomotive and an iron ore train.

Description:  A motorist drives through a flooded portion of the appropriately named Water Street in Connellsville, past the eco-friendly Genset locomotive on the Q353 train. The remnants of Tropical Storm Lee have brought non-stop rains for two days and a flood warning is now in effect.

Description:  Light power preparing to go under the signal at Sodem and switch tracks to go back into the yard. CSX 2230 Road Slug is former C&O 3539 GP35 built in Septemher 1965. CSX 6412 is former C&O 4274 built in January 1978. It received the new YN3 paint at Huntington, WV in 2009. Before that, the locomotive looked like a total mess.

The days of manned locomotives on yard jobs here may soon be a thing of the past, as signs have already been put up warning of remote-controlled locomotives on duty. CSX 6417 is former C&O 4279 built in 1978.

Im at the point where I am thrilled to see an SD50-2 that has not been repainted to "Dark Future" paint yet. Sure it looks a little rough but it has character. This is former Seaboard 8541 built in March 1984. Update: This has now been retired from CSX.
